Zen Petroleum Limited has presented items worth GH¢50,000 to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital at Sekondi to support health workers in their fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The items are 100 boxes of nose masks, 400 boxes of examination gloves, 30 (5-litre) gallons of sanitisers, 200 (ml) of sanitiser, six infrared thermometers as well as 50 gallons of disinfectant.

Presenting the items, Roger Larbi-Amoah – Logistics and Supply Chain Manager of Zen Petroleum said: “We have our business in the region, and we deem it necessary to support since government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities in fighting against COVID-19. This presentation follows a recent donation to the Tarkwa Government Hospital, and was done in a bid to shore-up reserves of crucial personal protective equipment (PPE) and other essential supplies.

“Being an indigenous company, you are in our thoughts; and hopefully we will be back before the year ends. We appreciate the good health-care you continue giving people in the region. As and when we receive a request, our company is ever-ready to support in this direction,” he added.

Michael Danso, Administrator at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital said: “Zen came to us a few weeks ago to inquire what we need to support our work, and they have provided us what we need. They have given to us not only what we need but in good quantities; this is the beginning of a good relationship we have. We appreciate this kind gesture and these items will be put to good use,” he said.
