MTN Ghana has held an exhibition fair in Tamale to showcase various products of the company to the public and promote the digital payment platform introduced by the company as a means of encouraging the use of mobile money to curb crime rates in the region and country as a whole.

The three-day event, held on the forecourt of the Veteran Association of Ghana, Tamale branch, also brought together artists, young entrepreneurs, among others, to also display their hidden talent to the public and attract investors for their products.

The mobile money controller for Northern and Savannan regions, Richmond Darfah Mensah, speaking at the event said technology has become one of the easiest ways of transacting business, education and other activities; and that the mobile money platform has come to stay and also helped many to transact businesses in the comfort of their homes.

According to him, before the platform’s introduction, many used to experience theft of their monies from robbers; but the mobile money platform coming into being has helped to reduce these incidences drastically.

He noted that the company is committed to providing quality services for its clients to ensure value for money.

“MTN Ghana will continue to invest in corporate social investments that will brighten lives across our communities in Ghana,” he said.

Payment Supervisor Salifu Abdallah urged entrepreneurs to make good use of the Internet and social media to market their products and services, as well as access the ‘Qwikloan’ service using the MTN mobile money platform.

“With Qwikloan, customers do not have to go through the hassle to provide proof of collateral in order to access the loan and also commit to repay the loans on time in order to have access to more,” he said.

He stressed the need for the public to desist from responding to calls that tell them they have won a product from the company, saying MTN management engage clients in their offices not on phones.

He added that whoever wins a product from the company is asked to visit the nearest MTN office with their Identity card.

He also urged the public to be alert on the various means used by fraudulent persons, and also try as much as possible to update information often to avoid being hijacked.
