A very good friend, wondered how I was able to come over to his house without him giving the directions to his place and I answered via google map.
As we went on with the conversation, it dawned on us as to how some simple services that we take for granted are so huge with regard to business yet turns not to look as such in reality.
The new businesses in our world today is so fascinating. There is no huge edifice to their locations yet they are all over in our faces.
They are not thought of or seen to be huge business entities by many of us who patronize their services every day and one of those businesses is Alphabet Inc.
Alphabet Inc. is an American conglomerate headquartered in Mountain view, California. It was created through a corporate restructuring of Google on October 2, 2015, and became the parent company of Google and several former Google subsidiaries.
The two founders of Google assumed executive roles in the new company, with Larry Page serving as CEO and Sergey Brin as president.
Even though Alphabet Inc is the parent company of Google, Google is the most popular branded subsidiary of it.
Google is a global search engine which provides a variety of different services like google maps, image search, google news, Google + etc.
One of the main achievements of google is innovation and work culture which is helpful for Google to be voted no 1 by fortune magazine in 2004.
Google is a nonprofit organisation with a start up fund of 1 billion dollar.
From August 2007, Google is most used search engine on web with a market share of 53.6%.
Users can search for every information they require.
Google provides a service namely Google Earth by using this service the user can visit any place in earth virtually.
So what is the point of all this one may ask?
There is a new seamless trend that seems to characterise new companies like Google.
- They seem very friendly
- Their usage is not difficult
- They do not coerce or compel anyone to use their services
- They are imbedded in the very activities of all that we do everyday
- You cannot live a very convenient or comfortable life without their services in the world today
- They are very simple to deal with yet very sophisticated in structure
- The essence of paying for their services is not felt by the user at all even though very expensive
For a business to be global and relevant, this is the way to go.
