Alliance Motors Ghana Limited, the exclusive distributor of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Ghana, has introduced on to the Ghanaian market the all new Land Rover Defender referred to as the most capable Land Rover ever created.
The all new Defender 2020, has been designed for optimum durability and capable of handling extreme terrains and confidently drive through urban jungle, to shifting sands and icy environments. Its Unique monocoque architecture contributes to making Defender the toughest and strongest vehicle Land Rover has ever created.
General Manager, Alliance Motors, Richard Ankomah, speaking at the launch event reiterated that the new Defender’s capabilities has been proven in more than 45,000 individual tests in a variety of harshest environments on earth. Adding that in its development phase, the Defender was exposed to extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius.
“The New Defender is an incomparable, unstoppable icon reimagined for the 21st century and we are proud to introduce it to Ghana. It has already assisted with lion conversation activities in Botswana and Kenya, supported Red Cross projects in the dunes of Dubai and crossed the Valley of Castle in the remote Canyon in Kazakhstan,” he said.
Mr. Ankomah, further indicated that the New Defender will begin a new chapter in the hearts of explorers, humanitarian agencies, businesses, government and adventurous families across the world. “Besides the peerless luxury and the highly capable and versatile discovery SUVs, New Defender completes the Land Rover dynasty.”
Vehicle buyers always look out for safety measures when buying a car and the new Defender comes with some unique safety features including; emergency defends system, collision mitigation mechanism and a blind spot monitor system among others.
While the 2020 Defender looks like an ordinary crossover, it has serious off-road capabilities and rugged components that help it live up to its go-anywhere heritage. The Defender boasts durable cabin furnishings, but also upscale materials and numerous luxury features.
The starting price for the all New Range Rover Defender in the country is around US$70,000 and comes in variety of colours.
The Defender’s dashboard sports a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs a brand-new interface for Land Rover called Pivi Pro. Compared to the rest of the Land Rover line-up Touch Pro Duo interface, the Defender’s system relies on a single touchscreen instead of two, offers quicker response times, and can handle over-the-air software updates for future releases
The 2020 Defender is powered by a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
