Sunu Assurances Ghana Limited, a member of a pan-African Financial Services Group, held its retail sales officer’s performance awards on the forecourt of the Sunu Palace (Head office) in Accra last week.
This year’s ceremony was the 11th in the series of awards and was slightly different. For the first time in the awards’ history, the ceremony was hosted as a virtual event.
This year’s award was streamed to all Sunu branches nationwide, in an effort to comply with social distancing guidelines.
“Over 71 awardees across the branches throughout the country will receive their awards. These awardees have played a very important role in helping the Sunu brand achieve its market share in the retail market last year. Even in the time of COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, we found an innovative way to recognise the achievements of these men and women,” said Prince Adeyemi Adetuwo, Managing Director of Sunu.
Three prizes were presented during the ceremony that spotlighted the retail sales officers’ exceptional performance. Ms. Naomy Ofosu of the Accra Branch-37 DVLA Centre, received the first prize of a brand-new Hyundai Grand i10.
Ms. Mercy Otabil, also of the Accra Branch-37 DVLA Centre, won the second prize of GH₵30,000 for a building support programme; while the third prize went to Abraham Bagulo, who received a cash prize of GH₵25,000.
The Managing Director revealed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the retail sales team exceeded its target by over 31%. “We started giving awards about 11 years ago; these awards are bestowed on retail sales officers who produce best results across the country.”
Paa Kwesi Yankey, Chairman, pointed out that those retail sales officers who face issues during their prospecting should feel free to approach any member of the management team for assistance.
The 2019 performance was fuelled by a strong concentration on non-live businesses.
