Ghana’s COVID-19 cases jump to 4,012 with 323 recoveries

The total confirmed coronavirus cases in Ghana have now reached 4,012 along with 323 recoveries with 18 recorded deaths, as at Friday, May 8, Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.

The latest development still puts the Greater Accra Region with the highest number of confirmed cases, of 3,436, followed by Ashanti Region with 210 cases.

The confirmed cases in the Eastern Region have now gone up to 96 cases, Central Region has 58 cases, Oti and Upper East Regions have 24 and 26 respectively, and the the Volta Region has also increased from 16 cases per the last case count to 32 cases.



Also, the Northern Region has 3 more new cases increasing its case count to 16 persons while the Upper West Region has also doubled its case count from 10 cases to 20. The Western Region has also recorded an increase of 41 persons from last count’s 9 making the total count as of today, 50 persons.

The Western North Region has now recorded 56 confirmed cases in total from the previously recorded number of 4 persons.
