Limitless Ghana, a foundation set up by Arnav Nambiar, a high school student of Lincoln Community School, has donated food stuff comprising bags of rice and milo products to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre in Ghana.
The gesture is aimed at providing support for people with disabilities during this COVID-19 period.
Speaking on the donation, Founder of Limitless Ghana, Arnav Nambiar said: “The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has showed how vulnerable we are as a society to disasters. It has also taught us that pandemics are unexpected and we must always be prepared to deal with them.
As a founder of Limitless, I deemed it important to aid the community in Accra during these difficult times. I sincerely hope that the pandemic will soon be a thing of the past and we can all go about our lives peacefully.”
Arnav added that, the main objective of Limitless Ghana, is to create awareness about people living with disabilities in Ghana and consistently support their needs by raising funds through any means possible.
“Myself and the foundation raised money for this cause. We believe this is a good cause, and we will continue to help people with disabilities. This foundation is indeed ‘Limitless’ because it truly represents the spirit of the people with impairments.”
Receiving the donation on behalf of Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Cynthia Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, thanked Arnav and his Foundation for their kind gesture. “On behalf of the vulnerable, I say thank you very much for such a thoughtful gesture. I encourage other young people to follow the great example by Arnav and his Foundation team.”
Limitless Ghana was established by Arnav Nambiar in 2018 after he experienced a road accident which left him in a wheelchair and crutches for a few weeks. Over the course of two years, Arnav has been meeting various heads of organizations to advocate for the communities who need support the most. Due to the good work of Limitless Ghana, the National Paralympic Committee has appointed Arnav Nambiar as the Ambassador for the Ghana Paralympic team for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
