Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have increased by 121, bringing the current total to 1,671 cases, Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, has said.
Speaking at the Information Ministry’s press briefing, he said the current data show that 566 have come from general surveillance.
Giving a comprehensive update, the Minister said 1,461 are well, with no symptoms and are responding to treatment, six persons are moderate to critically ill.
Mr. Agyemang-Manu said 237 are currently in isolation centers across the country with 174 in Central and Greater Accra.
He said nine persons are currently under quarantine in Kumasi and five in Tamale.
The minster revealed that eight cases have been reported in the Upper West, Upper East has 18 and the Northern region has 13 cases.
Giving a further breakdown, Mr. Agyemang-Manu said the Oti Region has recorded 17 cases and about 13 of them are under quarantine whereas the Volta region has so far recorded 11 cases.
Eastern region has 57 cases, the Ashanti region has 84 cases from normal and enhanced surveillance and the Central has 18 cases.
He said so far, four regions have not reported any case yet. These are the Savanna region, Bono East and West and the Bono Ahafo regions.
