Accra Breweries Limited (ABL) will in the second quarter of this year officially inaugurate its ultra-modern new packaging line, as part of measures to expand production capacity.

Speaking to the media on a tour of the facility, Ms. Adwoa Arthur, Legal & Corporate Affairs Director at ABL said: “As stakeholders whom we engage with on a regular basis, it is imperative that we engage you on new developments within our company.

“One of these new developments is the completion of a new Packaging Line, which will be inaugurated in the second quarter of 2018. The Line cost US$25m to construct and employed 170 persons in its construction.”

Speaking on the company’s vision of bringing people together as well as satisfying customers, Ms. Arthur said ABL had introduced new products and continues to improve on the quality and packaging of existing brands.

“We launched Stella Artois, a pale lager, onto the market in December last year, and introduced Beta Malt, our non-alcoholic malt beverage, in Returnable Glass Bottles,” she explained.

Ms. Arthur also highlighted ABL’s corporate social responsibility projects in Gambibgo and Tindongo – two communities in the Upper East Region – providing them with solar-powered furrow irrigation systems as part of its Eagle Farmer Project initiative.

“So far, we have impacted 15,000 farmers through the Eagle Farmer Project initiated in 2015, and hope to affect 30,000 farmers by 2020,” she added.

Accra Brewery Limited, established in 1931, is one of Ghana’s largest beverage manufacturers and is now a subsidiary of Anheuser Busch InBev (AB-InBev), the world’s leading brewer.

The company produces high-quality beverages including CLUB Premium Lager, CLUB Shandy, Castle Milk Stout and Stella Artois. It also produces the non-alcoholic malt brand, Beta Malt.
