Users of Glo Mobile in Ghana have now been offered further convenience for the use of the network as it partners with the tech-savvy bank, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited to enable them to expediently purchase airtime using the Bank’s reliable and efficient mobile platform *737# and Ghana’s biggest payment platform myghpay wherever they may be.
Other services such as making enquiries, transfer of funds from own account or to third party, making investments and payments for utilities would be added to the platform for Glo users in due course.
The partnership was marked by a brief ceremony held at the Head Office of GTBank in Accra, with representatives of the Telecommunications company and the Bank in attendance. Head of Glo 1, Mr. Joseph Odoi, Head of Retail Sales at Accra, Glo Ghana, Mr. Katey Caeser, Mr. Tunde Babalola, Public Relations Manager and actress and ambassador of Glo Ghana, Martha Ankomah were present at the ceremony.
Also present were Mr. Leopold L. L. Armah, Divisional Head of Digital Banking, Mr. Ben Ackah-Mensah, Group Head of Corporate Affairs and Mr. Joshua Boamah, Group Head of Technology, GTBank.
Commenting on the partnership, Divisional Head of Digital Banking, Mr. Leopold Armah described the partnership as a step to provide further ease to customers of Glo Mobile. “In this era where time is of the essence, you cannot afford to spend time looking for a place to buy scratch card to load credit. That is why a platform like *737# is a must-have. We are glad to have Glo on board.”

*737# is a mobile banking service designed to cater for most banking needs of customers without them having to visit any of the bank’s branches. Services available on the platform include initiation of account opening process for non-customers, transfer of funds between accounts, payment of Surfline, DSTV, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) – postpaid bills and Ghana Water Company Limited.
Customers can also make Treasury Bill and Fixed Deposit investments by selecting type and term of investment and the amount to purchase and request for ATM cards and cheque books straight from their mobile phones.
Bank *737# is a straight forward option for customers who are constantly on the move to carry out basic banking transactions as it does not require any internet connection. Typical of all GTBank electronic banking products, it is fast, convenient, highly secured and reliable.
Alternatively, Myghpay can be used online to collect payments with a Visa or MasterCard issued by any bank in the world, Gh-link card from any bank in Ghana and Mobile Money. It is a convenient platform for individuals and organizations that intend to patronize or pay businesses on the hub.
