Premium Motors Limited, sole distributor of Renault vehicles in Ghana, has introduced three trims of its luxury budget cars onto the Ghanaian market.
The collection comprises three 5-seat cars: namely The Basic Trim, also known as Authentique; the Expression and the Dynamique, all with manual transmission.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, the CEO of Premium Motors Limited, Jihad Hijazi, said these sets are targetted at entry level executives in corporate institutions as well as people looking to use the cars for commercial purposes, hence their affordability.
“We took the opportunity to introduce a few cars onto the Ghanaian market by selecting peculiar models that help this part of the world. These vehicles are what we term budget vehicles, for most price brackets to purchase something at a very advantageous value.”
Mr. Hijazi explained that these cars come with great value that is worth their price of between 8,300 to 10,500 euros, and their specifications which make them convenient for use.
“Tailoring a vehicle to suit a market is called tropicalisation, which means the vehicle is designed to meet the conditions locally – hence reducing the environmental impact on the vehicle,” he added.
The Authentique, which is a 5-seat hatchback, comes with a 3-cylinder petrol engine that functions just like cars running on 4 cylinders. Other features include 5-speed manual transmission, height-adjustable seatbelts at the front, Bluetooth hands-free, Driver, Passenger and side-airbags. It also comes with a 50:50 foldable rear seat back with ISOFIX anchors, as well as immobiliser systems among others.
The Expression also comes with the same basic features of the Authentique but has additional features such as power windows at the front and a central door-locking system.
The Dynamique has a 7-inch colour touchscreen entertainment system, on-board trip computer, colour keyed exterior (door handle, side mirrors and bumpers), daytime running lights, front foglights, and 3 adjustable headrests at the rear with 2 at the front.
