Apostolic Church marks Easter with games

The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Madina district has marked its Easter ceremony with inter district games to deepen the camaraderie and establish wider network among the church faithful.

Pastor Patrick K. Agbevem from the Madina District stated that the inter district games held on Easter Monday at the Pantang Hospital park was to strengthen the bond amongst the youth in the Madina area.

Church activities and merry making are a common sight during Easter celebrations and for the Apostolic Church-Ghana, Madina district it was no different. Church members participated in games including, lime and spoon, volley, women tag of peace, male and female football, draft, cards, oware, ludo.



The overall winners of this year’s games were the Madina Area District, which was spearheaded by its leader and secretary, Elder Isaac Baahom and Deacon Philip Yeboah respectively. Their football team were under the tutelage of Bro. Francis Otchere (Otsu noko).

Other participating districts were AshaleyBotwe, Japan Motors, New Legon, Haatso, Adenta and Ashiyie.

Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the most important Christian festival, and the one celebrated with the greatest joy. The date of Easter changes each year, and several other Christian festivals fix their dates by reference to Easter.
