On the occasion of Namibia’s Independence Day, the Ghana-Namibia Friendship Association has released a statement to commemorate the day and foster partnership between both countries in areas of tourism and business.
A statement signed by former High Commissioner of Ghana to Namibia and Chairman of the association, Harruna Attah, welcomed the “resumption of Air Namibia flights between Windhoek and Accra and believes it will enhance the people-to-people objective of the Association.”
According to the statement, Namibia, as part of its 28th anniversary celebrations can look forward to a future of mutually beneficial relationships with Ghana while the association acts as a catalyst to bring the people of both countries together towards the pursuit of the AU Agenda 2063.

The Ghana-Namibia Friendship Association salutes His Excellency President Godfried Hage Geingob and the people of Namibia on the 28th Anniversary of Namibia’s independence.
The Land of the Brave was born on March 21, 1990 after a long period of heroic struggle against Apartheid South Africa.
Only 28 years on, Namibia has held its own in the international community earning respect as a well-run country showing progress in the economy, infrastructure development, education, law and order, democracy and much more.
As she celebrates the 28th Anniversary of nationhood, Namibia can look forward to a future of more mutually beneficial people-to-people relations between her and Ghana – a relationship that goes back to the struggle years. The Ghana-Namibia Friendship Association on its part will play its catalyst role in bringing our peoples ever closer in the spirit of African Unity and the pursuit of AU Agenda 2063.
In this spirit, the Association welcomes the resumption of Air Namibia flights between Windhoek and Accra and believes it will enhance the people-to-people objective of the Association. In the coming months and years, Air Namibia would contribute greatly in opening up the tourism and business potentials of the two countries. We say Akwaaba to Air Namibia.
