British Council to host finale of ‘Duapa Challenge’

The British Council Accra, will tonight host the final of the Duapa Challenge dubbed: ‘The Campus Duel’.

The Duapa Challenge, as part of the British Council’s contributions to the social enterprise ecosystem, is a social innovation competition which seeks to promote economic growth, private sector development and youth employment through enterprise. Over the past two years, the competition has achieved its aim in identifying and supporting brilliant social enterprises like Trotro Tractor, Zaacoal and CowTribe which are currently in operation.

This edition of Duapa Challenge is focused on student ventures, exploring innovative social enterprise ideas that can be supported to viable businesses.



The grand finale is the final stage of the competition. Five out of nine teams from shortlisted tertiary institutions in Ghana who have made it to this round will deliver a pitch in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges.

The finalists are:

  • University of Ghana
  • Ashesi University
  • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
  • Catholic University College of Ghana
  • Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration

The winning team will be offered seed funding of GHS 10,000.

The event begins at 5pm prompt.
