Akufo-Addo, Mahama mourn Ebony

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Former President, John Mahama have expressed their condolences following the demise of Ghana’s young female dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns.

The two personalities, eulogizing the young star via their social media platforms, described her as young but highly talented.

President Akufo-Addo in a post on Facebook said: “I am saddened by the news of the death of the young but extremely talented female artiste, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, aka ‘Ebony Reigns’. By all accounts, she had a very promising music career. My deepest condolences to her family, and to the families of the two others who died in the tragic accident. #RIPEbony.”



Born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, the twenty-year old popular music icon, died late Thursday night when she got involved in an accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Ebony was returning to Accra, from Sunyani with three other people, one of whom was identified as a military man, a driver, and a female friend who joined her on the journey.

The news of her passing broke early Friday morning, with Ghanaians expressing shock at the news all over social media.
