The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will today Wednesday, January 17, 2018 hold an encounter with the Ghanaian media at the Flagstaff House and answer as many questions as possible.
It will be recalled that a similar event was held in July, 2017, six months after he assumed the presidency, with a promise to hold the event twice a year.
Major issues the President is expected to be questioned on include: The public reduction in electricity tariffs even before the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) concludes its stakeholder consultations; the progress of the government’s ‘One district, one factory’; the ‘one village, one dam’ initiative; and sustained funding for the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Challenges with the implementation of the Free SHS Programme and the threat posed by nomadic herdsmen.
