GSTS alumni swear-in national executives

Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) Alumni Association (GAA) has sworn-in national executives to see to the development of the school in Takoradi.

Also, it is to recognize the executive and make them more functional, promote the interest of the students and the alumina.

The executives are Gaint Wing Comdr. Rtd William Eugene Kekrabesi, as President, Giant Samuel Nana Akuamah Boateng, Ist Vice President, Giant Dr. Tetteh Abeyquaye 2nd Vice President and Giant Steve Tei Wayo as Secretary.



The rest are Giant Silvester Egyir, Deputy Secretary, Giant Ebo Simpson as Organizer, Giant Alex Sackey, Deputy Organizer and Giant Edward Hammond as Treasurer as well as Giant Akosua Dacosta Vroom as Deputy Treasurer.

In his acceptance speech, the President of GAA Giant Wing Comdr Rtd William Eugene Kekrebesie assured the executives and members of GAA that he will perform his duties to the best of his ability – I pray of indulgence in all that we do.

“We will make the school as one of the best in the country and will ensure effective running of the school” he added.

Rev. Prof. Frank Eshun, Vice Chancellor of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) congratulated the new executives -GSTS is relatively an old institution, the number of students that has passed through this school is overwhelming since 1901.

“Let us use our strength to make GSTS the best preferred second cycle institution in the country- since we have passed through this school, we can understand the issues and challenges of the school better” he said.

He urged the executives to collaborate with the school authourity to help improve the school and that government alone cannot solve the problems of the school, past students of the school also needs to support.

Giant Steve Tei-Wayo, General Secretary of GAA Executive Committee – “Our aim, is not only to network but also gain insight into various experiences as we use our collective expertise improve ourselves and to partner all stakeholders to halt the decline of discipline and decay that is gradually eroding the pride and status of most institutions”.

“It is our hope and desire that this partnership will be embraced and heralded as a potential panacea to restoring our pride and excellence in academics, sports, ethics and other extra-curricular spheres of life” he said.

He encouraged past student of GSTS to continue supporting the school and cash and in kind for the growth and development of the school.
