The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), industry regulator, has conferred on Eusbett Hotel, a wholly Ghanaian-owned facility in Sunyani, as the 2019 Best 3-Star Hotel in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions.

This is the 14th time that Eusbettt Hotel has won an industry-based award. They include regional (erstwhile Brong Ahafo), zonal (Brong Ahafo, Ashanti & Eastern) and national awards. The hotel has also been recognised by other organisations like the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).

Eusbettt Hotel, a 150 guestroom facility, was among 20 other hospitality facilities and individuals which were honoured by the GTA for their outstanding performances toward the industry’s growth and development in the three regions and country at large.

The General Manager, Robert Mensah, said the unprecedented feat is an attestation that management of the facility continue adhering to regulatory standards and improving from time to time – adding it is not out of place that Eusbett is increasingly becoming the preferred place for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) in the country.

He said the goal is to move Eusbett Hotel to a 4-Star facility, hence massive a facelift at the hotel. In line with the implementation of a ten-year strategic plan (2011-2021), about GH¢25million has been invested in upgrading the facility to ensure a high level of first-class hospitality services, he added.

“We have now increased the rooms from 67 to 150. The hotel boasts an excellent mix of facilities for both business and leisure clients, including Ghana’s second International Conference Centre with 10 halls – the biggest having a seating capacity of 2,000 persons. There is a clinic, cinema, business centre, tennis court, lounge, executive pub and the largest and best-equipped sports centre/gym in the hospitality industry, among others.

“The existing rooms and conference halls have all been renovated and build the capacities of our staff to match the service delivery. The hotel is also producing its own mineral water, from harvesting of water to the production of bottles and packaging. We have also invested in a water treatment system for domestic use by our guests,” he said.

The hotel is waiting final certification as a 4-Star hotel. According to the General manger, that will make Eusbett Hotel the only Ghanaian-owned and managed hotel that has moved from 2-Star to 4-Star.

The hotel is probably the most ‘green’ hotel in Ghana. runs on solar power and makes use of biogas digesters and relies 98 percent on LED lighting. In an effort to provide the healthiest food to its clients, Eusbett Hotel runs an organic greenhouse farm for its vegetables and also operates a cattle ranch (with about 200 head) that feeds the hotel.
