As part of efforts aimed at deepening the appreciation for professional coaching – personal, peer and group – the Association of Coaching Practitioners (ACP) Ghana, from yesterday, Monday. May 17, 2021 began a series of events to commemorate International Coaching Week (ICW) 2021.

Under the theme ‘Defying challenging times’, this year’s edition takes on added importance due to the peculiar personal and professional challenges brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Coaching is about partnering with people in a creative and thought-provoking process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

ACP Ghana, thus enjoins the general public to participate in the week-long celebration as, “Professional Coaching has the power to transform individuals and organizations but what better way to discover this transformative power than to be experiencing it firsthand?”

Activities slated for the week include workshops, demonstrations and free coaching sessions. This will be done through traditional and social media activities to create awareness about Professional Coaching; its benefits and use-case scenarios.

In addition, ACP Ghana will be offering 100 hours free-of-charge Coaching – to be delivered online – for first time participants on a first come, first served basis.

This will get participants to “take a complete look at their current state, including their assumptions and perceptions about their work, themselves and/or others; set relevant and realistic goals for themselves, based on their own nature and needs; take relevant and realistic actions toward reaching their goals; and learn by continuing to reflect on their actions and sharing feedback with others along the way.”

The ACP will also hold an online Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training for members and the general public.

The Association of Coaching Practitioners (ACP) Ghana is an independent organisation run by independent coaches for the benefit of promoting coaching in Ghana. It provides opportunities for coaches in Ghana to network, share ideas and build supportive networks for learning.
