The HR Focus Magazine in partnership with MTN Ghana has launched this year’s HR Focus Business Challenge under a new name dubbed the MTN Pulse Business Challenge in Accra.

The Business Challenge is a competition that seeks to unearth the entrepreneurial strengths of students and jobseekers, while building their confidence. Birthed from the HR Focus Career Development session, the MTN Pulse business challenge gives students the opportunity to explore innovative business solutions that are relevant in the world of work today.

In an interview with Nana Serwah Arthur, General Manager of Focus Digital, publishers of the HR Focus Magazine, she said: “The partnership with MTN Ghana means that this year’s Business Challenge is going to be bigger and better with a wider reach.”

“The HR Focus Business Challenge was started in September 2016 as part of a Career development session of the HR Focus Conference. The objective for the competition is to bridge the gap between industry and academia by providing students, job seekers and young executives with the necessary tools needed for career advancement,” she added

Commenting on the partnership, the Ag. Chief Marketing Officer for MTN, Mr. Noel Kojo Ganson noted that MTN decided to come on board as the lead sponsor for this year’s Business Challenge considering the impact the two previous editions had on participants. “This year’s edition will also provide the youth with unlimited opportunities to access digital tools to enhance their entrepreneurial and creative abilities.

He said, as a brand that is committed to supporting youth development, we deem it appropriate to provide unique solutions that will help the organizers and participants achieve the objectives of the Business Challenge. “It is our hope that through the HR Focus MTN Pulse Business Challenge, we will unearth budding entrepreneurs whose creative solutions will help solve critical challenges confronting our communities,” he added.

The competition will begin with two zonal preliminaries covering both the northern and southern zones. The preliminaries of the HR Focus MTN Pulse Business Challenge will take place at the LOC Events Centre in Accra on the 16th of April and 20th of April, 2018. Participating in this year’s Business Challenge are students from University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Pentecost University College, Wisconsin University College, Radford University, Accra Institute of Technology, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Takoradi Technical University, Presbyterian University College and All Nations University College.
