PETROSOL, an oil marketing company, has organized fire safety training for its staff and management. The week-long training which is held annually across the country at locations where they have their stations, is aimed at ensuring that staff (from attendants to the CEO) are up to date with fire prevention and fighting skills.

The purpose of the training was also to refresh staff on the knowledge acquired previously on fire hazards identification, fire prevention and how to fight fires at their nascent stages to avoid them escalating to cause great damage to lives and properties. The training was also to give an opportunity to newly recruited staff to gain knowledge on fire safety.

PETROSOL, the two consecutive time award winners of the Health, Environment, Safety and Security awards (HESS 2019, 2020), is generally known for their adherence to industry best industry practices and consumer protection.

According to Michael Bozumbil, the Chief Executive Officer of PETROSOL, the company believes that the environment in which they operate has to be constantly kept safe for staff, consumers and the general public. Thus, protection of lives and property is paramount to them in their operations.

Mr. Michael Akwei, the fire trainer from the Ghana National Fire Service, commended the management of PETROSOL for committing resources into constantly training its staff across the country over the years, notwithstanding the financial challenges, and encouraged them to continue on that commendable path.

PETROSOL has 92 fuel stations across the country where they serve consumers with clean fuel in full quantity as well as high quality lubricants.
