PETROSOL donates PPEs worth GH¢100,000 to 10 hospitals

PETROSOL has donated specialised Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and medical consumables worth GH¢100,000 to 10 selected hospitals across the country for use by frontline medical workers.

The items include 1,000 pieces of N95 facemasks, 5,000 pieces of surgical facemasks, 12,000 pieces of latex gloves, 140 pieces of surgical gowns, 75 pieces of full-body gear, 100 gallons of rubbing alcohol and 20 gallons of hand sanitiser.

Additionally, PETROSOL has made available five pick-ups which are fuelled to deliver the items to each of the hospitals located across the country at its expense.

Speaking at a presentation event in Accra, Mr. Kwasi Zigah-Head of Marketing & Strategy PETROSOL, indicated that the purpose of this donation was to lend the company’s support to efforts being made by state agencies in the fight against COVID-19 in the country, by focussing on some selected hospitals in dire need of these PPEs to protect the lives of their frontline medical workers.

He also indicated that it was to demonstrate the company’s appreciation to the frontline health workers who are working in various communities of the country for their patriotism and dedication to duty, as they risk their own lives to save the lives of others. He added that as the nation applauds and cheers them for the great work they are doing, it is important that we all contribute to ensuring their safety.

Mr. Joseph Yaribil, the Head of Operations & Safety of PETROSOL, on behalf of the company’s management presented the first set of items to Dr. Akua Gyimah-Asante, Medical Superintendent of the LEKMA Hospital – one of the beneficiary hospitals. She expressed her immense appreciation to PETROSOL for the kind gesture and demonstration of care for frontline medical workers, especially at this critical time, and assured them that the items will be put to good use – calling on other corporate bodies to also support them.

PETROSOL is known in the petroleum industry for delivering clean fuel in full quantity through its eighty-three (83) fuel stations across the country, and also supplies bulk to corporate consumers of quality diesel and lubricants. It has also won several awards for its commitment to best industry practices and ethical business conduct.
