KEK Insurance Brokers and KEK Reinsurance Brokers have both been adjudged Best Insurance Brokers in Ghana at the maiden edition of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana awards which took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, last week Saturday 28th November 2020.
The Group carted home four awards in the following categories: CIIG Insurance Broker of the Year – General; CIIG Insurance Broker of the Year – Life; CIIG Reinsurance Broker of the year; and CIIG’s Most Supportive Broker.
The awards were received by Shaibu Ali – Managing Director of KEK Insurance Brokers, and Nuerkie Afi Odzeyem, Chief Executive Officer of KEK Reinsurance Brokers (Africa) Ltd. Shaibu in receiving the awards dedicated them to founder of the Group, Kwesi Essel-Koomson of blessed memory, and the company’s teeming young staff who are giving their all for the company to succeed.
KEK Insurance Brokers brought change to Insurance Broking in Ghana. The company was incorporated in 1985, got licensed in 1990, and became the leading broker in terms of market share from 1992 – a position the company has held jealously for the past 28 years.
The company has won several awards over the years from industry, local and international bodies. Key among these, the company in 2017 became a member of the Ghana Club 100 placing 75th – and in 2018 its position improved to 34th. These awards confirm only one thing: that there is something positive going on in the KEK Group.
The citation presented to the KEK Group affirms its vision as the leading and preferred Insurance Broker, meaning KEK is poised to transform and improve the way broking is done in the country using innovative and competent human capital driven by appropriate technology. This transformation is also extended to its subsidiaries in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
The CIIG Awards 2019 provided a platform to recognise individuals and companies which played significant roles in the growth and development of insurance. It is a flagship event of the Insurance Industry to celebrate achievements and brilliance within the sector.
Managing Director Shaibu Ali said the fact that KEK Group swept all the awards available to brokers means the Board, Management and Staff are doing the rights things, adhering to best practice and re-engineering processes for the benefit of customers. He therefore thanked all customers for continuing to keep faith with the company, while urging others to join the train and benefit from the good insurance broking service KEK Group offers.
He indicated that KEK will work even harder to ensure it retains all the awards in next year’s edition.
