ECOM Ghana has received two awards at the maiden edition of the National Governance & Business Leadership Awards, as the firm and its Country Director, Muhammadu Muzzammil, were adjudged the Agribusiness Company of the Year and the Business Country Manager of the Year, respectively.
The National Governance and Business Leadership Awards, which came off at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel, is a C-level high-impact economic empowerment and leadership awards program designed to promote good governance, economic empowerment, and job creation in Ghana.
The awards were in recognition of ECOM Ghana’s commitment towards agriculture in the country, which has translated to the creation of wealth and prosperity for many rural communities.
The keynote address on the night was delivered by a former Rector for GIMPA and the current board chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Professor Emeritus Stephen Adei, who spoke on the theme: ‘Leadership and Nation Building: Realities, Challenges and the way forward in Contemporary Ghana.’
He used the platform to congratulate the winners for their feats, which he noted were enviable, especially in light of the prevailing social and economic conditions businesses find themselves. Prof. Adei further reminded them that nation building is a collective responsibility and must be pursued even more vigorously as countries push towards post-pandemic recovery.
Reacting to the award, Mr. Muzzammil expressed delight at the recognition but added it serves to confirm his firm’s strategies in creating rural prosperity and will provide added impetus for ECOM’s focus on growth and sustainability.
