Welcoming MPs and staff from the break on Tuesday March 2, 2021, the Speaker, Alban Sumana Bagbin announced that a retesting he directed to be done just before the House resumed showed that 12 people including staff and MPs tested  positive. This represents 2 percent of the population of staff and MPs.

“You will recall that on Tuesday 9th March, 2021, in consultation with leadership I adjourned the house for three weeks from Wednesday 10th February 2021 to Tuesday 2nd March 2021 following the upsurge of the Covid-19 infections in Parliament after the testing conducted by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.

He further directed that all MPs who have not done the re-testing to do so immediately.
