Winners from the 2023 edition

The countdown for the sixth Ghana Shippers Awards is on as organizers of the awards fine-tune the event slated for Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. The event which will be preceded by a maiden summit in the morning would among other things bring together industry players and stakeholders to deliberate on the future of the industry.

On the theme ‘Sustaining the Maritime and Shipping Landscape in an Era of Climate Change’, it will recognize and proffer compelling solutions within the sector. The awards which promise to be the toast of the night will also honour shortlisted nominees for their role in moving the industry forward.

Categories

The categories included Air Cargo Carrier, Air Freight Solution Provider, Brand of the Year, Courier Service Provider, Custom House Agent, Customer Service Award, Dry Bulk Importer, Exporter, Financial Service Provider, Freight Forwarder/Custom House Agent, Fruit/Vegetable Exporter, Ground Cargo Handler (Air), Liner Exporter, Indigenous Beverage Exporter, Local Content Award, Logistics Service Provider, Maritime & Logistics Insurer, and Most Transparent Shipper.

Others include Non-Traditional Exporter, Road Haulier, Sea Freight Solutions Provider, Terminal Operator, Trade Facilitation Organization, as well as the Shipper, Shipping Agent, and Shipping Line of the Year, Promising CEO, Promising Entrepreneur, Promising Freight Forwarding/Custom House Agent, Hall Of Fame, Lifetime Achievement, Excellence In Corporate Social Responsibility, and Excellence In HSEQ Awards

Entrepreneur/CEO of the Year

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of BenMarine Offshore Services, Bernard Agbloe Lomotey has been shortlisted for the Entrepreneur of the Year category, while Mukesh Thakwani, CEO, B5 Plus Ltd; Mohammed A. Osman, CEO, Karima Auto and Shipping Ltd; Dr. Daniel Mckorley, CEO, Mcdan Shipping Company Ltd; and Osafohene Dr Afua Asabea Asare I, CEO, Ghana Export Promotion Authority are keenly in the race for the CEO of the Year category.

Ghana Link Network Services Ltd’s Nick Danso Adjei and Eric Akukumah, of Eda Logistics have been shortlisted for both categories, with Paul Jesse Mensah, CEO, Freight Connect Ghana Ltd, Eric Akukumah, CEO, Eda Logistics and Mohammed A. Osman, CEO, Karima Multi Company competing for the Promising CEO and Promising Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Dubbed “the climate change edition,” the event which is being organized by Globe Productions Limited is in partnership with the United Nations (UN), Ghana Shippers Authority, and the Africa Women and Children Conference initiatives, is supported by the Ministry of Transport, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority and the Graphic Communications Group Limited.
