MINDSET with Gambrah Sampeney Kwabena Adjei: Chat change

As I was watching BBC, I saw a bulletin head stating that Italy is the first country to ban ChatGPT from being used in their country. Not long after, I bumped into a brother who couldn’t hold his breath about the ChatGPT; he asked me about it in a stoke manner and I responded by saying ‘no’.

In a bewildered posture and gesture, he couldn’t believe it and asked: “How”? And I reiterated with the same concrete ‘no’.

Due to his surprised gawky attitude toward me, I said: “Tell me about it”.

In exclamation, he mentioned my name and followed it with the phrase, “you don’t mean it”! This ChatGPT is taking the entire world by storm. It can do anything. You name it! So I asked: “Anything like what”?

Then he said: “You can tell this ChatGPT to do a proposal, a business plan, an analysis of something, and it will do it with facts backed by data, comprehension that will make meaning as if it had been done by going to the field to gather the information it has rendered in whatever task you have assigned for it to work on”.

He talked endlessly about it. He just couldn’t understand why this ChatGPT had such tremendous ability to do such things with so much ease.

What intrigued me was that if this ChatGPT can do all this, then the entire world is about to experience an unprecedented high unemployment rate.

This ChatGPT is basically taking over the entire office space set-ups, and his expression and antics were all draped in Doomsday kind of expectation, which made me wonder.

Due to his fascination of the ChatGPT, I decided to do a cursory search on it.

So, what is a ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) Chatbot that uses natural language processing to create humanlike conversational dialogue. The model language can respond to questions and compose various written content, including articles, social media posts, essays, codes, and emails.

After a cursory experimentation with the ChatGPT, I realised how amazing it is; yet I do not think it has come to take over the office setting space but to improve our efficiency and proficiency in writing articles, essays and so on in record time.

Most of the time, such artificial intelligence systems are built with a certain mindset of solving an issue that pertains to their basic environment.

For instance, in the USA, such AIs might be seen as an efficient system to job employment in the office but in places like Africa, it would be an immense leveller in our education and health.

For example, teacher to student ratio of a class, health diagnostics, and so on.

I mean, can you imagine a situation where a doctor is at his wit’s end of a situation due to anxiety, he can easily fall on the ChatGPT with questions on what to do and he will have a response in record time to deal with the situation at hand amicably in an audio conversation format.

If it is properly harnessed and understood in the context of developmental projects with regard to expenditure and so on, I may argue that it will also help the governments of Africa in dealing with policy framework execution and social economic infrastructures.

Need I say more, ChatGPT is about making our world an awesome one to live in.

The possibilities are endless. Our chats would be a chart of change to benefit the human race.
