100 young businesses honoured at Innovation and Startup Awards 2023

100 Ghanaian Startups were celebrated and honoured at the Ghana Innovation and Startup Awards held over the weekend, at the Accra Digital Centre. The Awards ceremony to crown the 2nd edition of Ghana Startup Week saw top players in Ghana’s Startup ecosystem assembling in unity to celebrate the deserving Startups.

Ghana Startup Week (GSW) 2023 held under the theme: Youthful Startup Innovations; Fuelling Ghana’s Future Prosperity, was powered by the Association of Ghana Startups in collaboration with National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, Ghana Enterprises Agency, National Youth Authority, Ghana Digital Centres Ltd, Venture Capital Trust Fund, GEC+ Africa 2024, International Trade Centre, Vodafone and other key players in the Startup ecosystem.

GSW aims to promote ecosystem dialogue and knowledge management as an important driver of policy planning and implementation, as well as building capacities and highlighting the promising industrial sectors that attract investment or funding, continental trade and sustainable growth of our economy to drive the engagement of Startups, SMEs, Youth and Women entrepreneurs.

Having held 2 days Ghana Startup Ecosystem Summit from Wednesday-Thursday, the Awards night on Friday, crowned it all in a grand style celebrating the achievement of Ghana’s youth and the Startup ecosystem players.

As part of his welcome address, Solomon Adjei, President of Association of Ghana Startups congratulated the nominees and admonished them to be proud of been selected to be part of the best 100 startups in Ghana, and not to worry much about just wining the ultimate plaque. He encouraged them to let their nomination work for them, by publicizing it, and adding it to their portfolios which will in turn bring them deals as it bestows public and stakeholder confidence in their brands.

The Director of Innovations at Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Nashiru Salifu assured the Startups of the Ministry’s commitment in supporting them to scale beyond borders.

All 100 nominees received beautifully designed Certificates of Honor while 25 top winners including Kani Mani of Origgin, Male Founder of the Year and Deborah Abena Boatemaa of Innovisionak30 Ventures, Female Founder of the year received a plaque in addition.
