Kintampo Community Bank PLC, headquartered at Kintampo in the Bono East Region, has donated 100 mono-desks valued at approximately GH¢30,000 to Jema Senior High School (SHS).
The gesture forms is in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at supporting education and community development. The donation is expected to help address the furniture deficit confronting the school located at Jema in the Kintampo South District of Bono East Region and create a more conducive learning environment for students.
The intervention followed an appeal by the management of Jema SHS, which had drawn attention to the shortage of furniture and its adverse impact on academic activities. The school subsequently sought the support of the bank to help mitigate the challenge.

Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Kintampo Community Bank PLC, Martin Mensah, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting educational development and other community-focused initiatives within its operational area.
According to him, the donation forms part of the bank’s broader CSR agenda, which seeks to complement its core banking operations through investments that improve the welfare of communities and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.
Mr Mensah indicated that the bank would replicate similar interventions in other deprived schools within its catchment area to help improve educational infrastructure and support teaching and learning.
“The bank remains committed to holistic and sustainable community development beyond its primary financial obligations. We will not relent in our efforts to implement impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives that contribute to community growth and development,” he stated.
He further called on residents and businesses within the bank’s operational area to continue to repose confidence and trust in Kintampo Community Bank, describing the institution as a reliable financial partner for business growth, financial inclusion and community advancement.
On his part, the Board Chairman of Kintampo Community Bank PLC, Nana Owusu Gyare II, said the bank would continue to place community development at the centre of its operations as it advances its transition into an urban community bank.
“As we position ourselves as an urban community bank, we remain committed to our CSR objectives. We will continue to support education, agriculture and small businesses to ensure a brighter future for us all,” he stated.
Receiving the desks on behalf of the school, the Headmaster of Jema SHS, Joseph Amoateng Nyarko, expressed appreciation to the bank for responding to the school’s appeal, noting that the donation would significantly ease the pressure created by inadequate furniture.
He explained that student enrolment at the school had increased steadily over the years to 1,843, without a corresponding increase in furniture and other supporting infrastructure.
Mr Nyarko said the desks would help improve classroom conditions and support effective teaching and learning. He also appealed to other corporate organisations, benevolent institutions and individuals to emulate the example set by Kintampo Community Bank by supporting educational institutions facing infrastructure challenges.
