Basil David Anthony wins 2024 Africa Forty Under 40 Awards


Basil David Anthony, CEO of Modern Floors Ghana, emerged as the winner of the prestigious 2024 Forty Under 40 Africa Award, celebrated at a grand event in Nairobi.

Surrounded by top entrepreneurs, CEOs and government officials, Basil’s outstanding contributions to the Home and Decor industry garnered well-deserved recognition.

The Forty Under 40 awards celebrate Africa’s brightest young leaders, entrepreneurs and change-makers across diverse fields. Founded by Richard Abbey Jnr, the event recognises individuals under 40 who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation and impact.

At the Under 40 Champions Summit held earlier in the day before the award ceremony, Mr. Basil Anthony addressed African governments, urging them to support the business community. He highlighted the exorbitant costs of intra-Africa travel, surpassing those of travelling outside the continent.

Mr. Basil emphasised the long-standing challenges faced by airlines due to governmental taxes; and called upon officials of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to facilitate exhibitions for African businesses, enabling them to showcase their products and expand their market presence within Africa.

Furthermore, Mr. Basil David Anthony reaffirmed his enduring commitment to the flooring industry, expressing readiness to contribute significantly to its advancement and prosperity across Africa.
