To establish its unrelenting commitment to development of the country’s economy, FBNBank Ghana Limited has started a series of fairs for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The FBNBank SME Fair is in two editions: the first edition takes place from 12th to 16th December 2023 at the Atomic Branch while the second involves simultaneous fairs at the Dome, Santa Maria and Tema Hospital branches from 19th to 23rd December 2023.

Speaking at the first fair’s opening in Accra, Managing Director-FBNBank Ghana, Victor Yaw Asante, said supporting SMEs to grow is critical for development of the bank and the country’s economy.

“Supporting and giving opportunities for SMEs to expand their territories will inspire growth, further leading to the creation of employment opportunities,” he noted.

Making reference to its parent bank, First Bank of Nigeria, he said the bank has over 129 years of experience in dealing with local businesses, and contributed immensely to their growth in Africa’s largest economy.

The MD noted that FBNBank Ghana is well-placed to leverage this experience to the benefit of its SME clients in Ghana.

He was confident that the bank’s support for SMEs will lead to an improvement in their performance and contribution to the economy.

Through the fairs which are to be held at other strategic locations, the bank aims to educate SMEs about its tailored product and service offerings and how businesses can take advantage of them to achieve sustained growth. The fairs will also equip SMEs with necessary knowledge and skills to succeed.

Another objective is giving SMEs access to one-on-one consultations with professionals, including financial advisors, legal advisors and business consultants to address financial challenges and other issues hindering their growth and development.
