FBNBank has been presented with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award at the 4th edition of the 2022 Health Environmental Safety & Security (HESS) awards held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel last Friday.

The HESS awards are designed to identify and publicly celebrate outstanding companies for their exceptional performance and innovations focused on occupational health, safety, security and the environment (HSSE). The awards are also intended to promote the implementation of best practices in HSSE managements systems, which embody the classical model through the ‘Plan-Do-Check-Act’ cycle. The theme for this year’s awards was ‘Recognising outstanding achievements and celebrating business excellence and innovation focused on occupational health, safety, security and environment’.

The CSR award was presented to FBNBank by Dr. Diana Heyman Adu, HESS awarding board chairperson, and received on behalf of the bank by Semiu Lamidi, Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer; William Amon Neequaye, Head of Commercial Banking; and Mrs. Elizabeth Somuah, Head of Trade Services.

Commenting on the award, Semiu Lamidi said: “Over the years, FBNBank has through the actions and efforts of its staff demonstrated that it is all about putting others first, be it business or community activities. We have done these by supporting causes which resonate with our brand and appeal to our people.

“Activities like supporting a home for deprived children, providing for the education of young persons, providing equipment for the police, contributing to the Ghana Black Stars fundraising effort, committing to the fights against polio and cancer in children, and helping young people define clear career paths are some of what we do in our communities. FBNBank’s responsibility as a corporate citizen goes further to include how we do our business and how we contribute to the development of Ghana’s economy. All these have been a sharp reflection of what we are and what our brand stands for. This award is therefore confirmation of how committed we are to this effort”.

The FBNBank Ghana brand has over the years engaged in a sustained campaign to deliver benefits to its community, people and the economy through programmes and initiatives in Community Support. In the last three years, the bank has through the annual Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) Week celebrations heightened its contributions and commitments – particularly in the area of people empowerment, wherein together with the staff it has made contributions to several causes in health and education.

FBNBank has in its 26 years of operating in Ghana remained focused on putting its customers and communities first. This it has sought to do through the rich value and excellence of what the Bank contributes to the relationship with its stakeholders as a whole, particularly the customers.
