Our promise to guarantee the safety of our customers in case of any eventualities saw us pay a total of GH¢2,421,787 claims to more than 8,000 people last year during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021 alone, 8,405 customers have received a total of over GH¢2.5million funeral and hospital cash benefits.

In planning for the unexpected, the inevitable and for the future, aYo Ghana pledges to be the most reliable partner as it offers relevant, accessible, and easy-to-use insurance solutions that give absolute peace of mind to Ghanaians and their financial wellbeing.

Over the years, there has been a growing perception of insurance being within the purview of a few, mostly the rich. aYo Ghana has leveraged the wheels of technology through the use of mobile phones and tailor-made insurance products in penetrating the market to serve all classes of people, including low-income earners, underserved communities, among others in Ghana. Over six million MTN subscribers are covered by aYo.

With our two main products, namely, Recharge with Care and Send with Care, aYo Ghana provides hospital and life insurance cover to MTN customers who sign up for any of these insurance policies.

Recharge with Care

aYo Recharge with Care gives a policyholder the opportunity to sign up for either MyHospital Cover or MyLife Cover, or even both.

With MyHospital Cover, customers receive up to GHC 120.00 per night as hospital cover upon admission due to illness or accident. On the other hand, MyLife Cover gives up to GHC 6,000.00 life cover to a policyholder’s named beneficiary when the policyholder passes on or when a registered family member under the policy is deceased.

The insurance cover is for 30 days and it is renewable. The more a customer recharges airtime on their MTN number, the more their benefits accumulate. Also, the premium for the insurance cover is automatically deducted from subscriber’s airtime in bits anytime they recharge, until a total premium for the month (i.e., either GH¢4.00 or GH¢6.00) is paid.

Additionally, customers have the flexibility to boost their cover by buying cover manually using the MyBoost menu option and paying from their airtime wallet. Customer can simply sign-up by dialing *296# or via app.ayo4u.com.

Send with Care

Unlike Recharge with Care, aYo Send with Care provides insurance cover (MyHospital and MyLife Cover) anytime you send money to your loved ones via MTN Mobile Money by dialing *170#, selection option 1 (transfer money) and then option 3 (Send with Care).

With aYo Send with Care, we will triple the amounts you have sent over the last four months and pay it to you or your beneficiaries. As highlighted above, the benefit includes: life cover in the unfortunate event that you or your insured family member passes away; hospital cover if you spend one night or more on admission due to an accident or three nights or more due to illness.

You can get up to GH¢30,000.00 hospital and life insurance cover and up to GH¢3,000.00 life cover for your family members (receiver of the MoMo).

A fixed fee of 5% is deducted from your MTN Mobile Money balance after you have sent money to your beneficiaries, hence the need to ensure you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the policy.
