Adansi Rural Bank at Fomena in the Adansi North district of Ashanti Region has inaugurated its newest branch at Adansi Asokwa as part of its branch expansion drive for the 2021 operational year.

The branch office formerly operated as an agency, but has now been given licence by the central bank to operate as a fully-fledged branch office to carry out all banking services as required by banking law.

The Adansi Asokwa branch-opening now brings to twelve the total number of branches currently being operated by the bank, spread across various communities and towns in the region.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Kofi Ampofo Agyapong, while enumerating some of the major steps taken to boost profitability for the bank was hopeful the fully-fledged Asokwa branch will further improve the bank’s profit levels and service quality.

The Board Chairman sent his message of appreciation to customers of the bank for doing business with them for the past, approximately, forty years.

According to him, inauguration of the Adansi Asokwa branch was part of the bank’s five-years strategic plan for growth and operational efficiency.

He observed that the bank has been widely recognised in the country over the years, and therefore urged existing and potential clients to confidently invest and do business with it for good returns.

Speaking at a short ceremony to officially open the Adansi Asokwa branch, the Board chairman urged residents of the area to embrace the bank’s services and products; particularly artisans and itinerant traders within the enclave.

He emphasised that the primary objective of siting a branch at Adansi Asokwa is to help them avoid the risks in always travelling to Obuasi or Fomena to transact banking business; and also to afford them opportunity to take advantage of the bank’s credit products to improve and grow their businesses.

By this development, the bank can make enough profit to enable it support other community development activities.

He however urged customers to make a conscious effort to pay back the loans they take to expand their businesses, so that others can also benefit and for further business sustainability.

The Omanhene of Adansi Traditional Council, Nana Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afriyie II who was the guest speaker, advised the people of Adansi Asokwa to patronise the bank’s services and products so it earns enough profit to support developmental projects in the community.

He emphasised that financial institutions and businesses in the community bring development, and so they should not depend solely on government for development as a lot rests on the individual businesses. However, government and its agents are to ensure that there is effective security; thereby making the business environment very enabling and conducive for businesses to thrive. Hence, he urged the people of Asokwa to support indigenous businesses.

Adansi Rural Bank currently operates twelve branches: these include Kaase, Dunkirk, Mbrom, Asawase, Ejisu and Atonsu (all in Kumasi), and Kotwi in Atwima Kwanwoma district; New Edubiase in Adansi South district; Obuasi; Akrokerri and the newly inaugurated branch at Adansi-Asokwa in addition to the Head Office at Fomena, all in the Adansi North district.

The bank’s vision is to be among the top five rural banks in Ashanti Region with a three (3) fold increase in net profit within five (5) years, 2018-2022 – with a mission to provide effective and efficient banking services for all stakeholders.

In recognition of a rapidly changing financial ecosystem, the bank has introduced Automated Teller Machines which are on Gh-link to provide convenience and accessibility for customers. As part of the bank’s plans to make its brand more appealing to customers, it has a mobile App and online banking powered by U-Connect from ARB Apex Bank.
