Metropolitan Life, a leading life insurance underwriter, organised a retreat for its broker partners in Accra recently, which was aimed at appreciating the partnership between them.

It was also a move to review and explain Metropolitan Life’s product offerings and the new incentives they have introduced to encourage the insurance brokers – most importantly, in areas of training programmes for broker sales executives.

Over 30 insurance broking firms participated in this retreat that was led by Metropolitan’s Chief Executive, Tawiah Ben-Ahmed, and other Line-Heads from the Health and Pension Companies.

Speaking on this partnership, Tawiah Ben-Ahmed said: “We are excited about this innovative partnership with Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG) members, and in particular our innovative offerings we/they are pushing into Ghanaian market.

“Today’s retreat with brokers is another important milestone for our relationship with brokers and our business in Ghana; we are excited about its potential, as it will add to our growth already achieved and position us closer to the top.

“We will support all brokers in their training programmes and improve all financial incentives they will need in their operations,” he affirmed.

He added that working closely with IBAG members, “we have been told that issuance of policy documents and claims payment have become things of the past since we have information technology systems which are currently very robust”. He assured the brokers of prompt brokerage incomes henceforth.

Furthermore, he commented that Metropolitan Life has a full array of very innovative products – explaining further that “the loss of love ones should not come along with financial stress; that is double tragedy”.

Dr. Rafique Dauda, Head of Distribution, explained that: “At Metropolitan Life, we provide you the most suitable solution to finance funeral expenses of love ones; so the focus is on the loss and impact of the loss. Our Family Eternity Plus is custum made for you and your family”. Explaining further, the Head of Distribution said an enhanced Funeral Finance Plan has been designed to provide you with an immediate cash to finance the funeral expenses of your family.

“We understand your needs and have personalised this Family Eternity Plus solution to enhance your life-time financial wellness.  Importantly, our flagship enhanced Funeral Finance Plan has been designed to provide you immediate cash to finance the funeral expenses of your family.”

The scope of standard benefits is enormous – which includes a one-week celebration benefit, main funeral benefits, no claims benefit that is cash-back, and paid-up benefit.

Emmanuel Oteng Tuffour, Head of Met Health and Met Head of Pension Trust explained the company’s operations to participants.
