Nobel International Business School to train innovators

Nobel International Business School (NiBS), the first doctoral business school in the sub-region, has introduced a new professional course in innovative skills development to train experts who will commit their expertise to national development.

According to management, the Certified Innovation Professional (CIP) programme will provide a proven process to rapidly identify innovative ideas and replicable innovative processes for developing new products.

CIP is designed to deliver core competencies to participants, including the ability to diagnose and select innovation methodologies that are best for the situation, articulate and implement best practices leading innovation and growth, and continuously improve innovation practices and processes that support the growth strategy.

Executive President and Founder of NiBS, Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, speaking at the programme launch, stressed that the CIP programme is aimed at building the executive and organisational internal capacity for generating and accelerating profitable growth through innovation.

“Nothing is essential to the well-being of an organisation, industry, profession, or a country than its capacity to think creatively and innovate in a world-class way. The programme helps an organisation to develop an elite group of innovation leaders who are experts in the best practices for generating and implementing new ideas, advancing collaboration on critical projects, and capturing the value of innovation,” he said.

He added that the CIP programme confirms mastery of creativity, innovation principles and best practices that organisations demand. It also supports the organisation’s drive for process consistency and discipline in innovation management.

Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, in his Guest of Honour address at the programme launch, noted that the government understands the importance of innovation and creativity in national development and will therefore encourage both public and private sector executives to take advantage of the course to develop their skills in the area.

“The CIP programme offers a unique insight and comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of innovation management and critical principles of leading innovation. It supports participants in achieving proficiency in applying innovation management best practices.

“I encourage you and Ghanaians to take advantage of this programme and be part of the elite group of innovation leaders who are experts in the best practices for generating and implementing new ideas, advancing collaboration on critical projects, and capturing the value of innovation,” he said.

Dr. Felix Kwame Aveh, a member of the CIP programme faculty, mentioned that the course contains four main modules; namely: understanding innovation management, managing innovation processes, innovation leadership, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) innovation forum and reflection.

The understanding innovation management module offers a unique insight and comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of innovation management and critical principles of leading innovation.

Qualification for the programme, preferably, is a Bachelor’s degree, professional qualification, or a diploma in any discipline.
