The Executive Director of Association of Rural Banks, Ghana, Mrs. Comfort Owusu, has been presented with a ‘SHE Achiever’ in Banking Award by the African Women Awards.
The award ceremony, which held in Cairo in Egypt recently, was organised by The African Union and The Business Executive Council from over 20 African countries.
The purpose of the award was to recognise African women who have distinguished themselves in the development of the African continent, and fought to bring themselves up for the emulation of the younger ones, of which Mrs. Comfort Owusu was identified as one.
A ‘She Achiever’ was conferred on her for her significant contribution and the impact she has made, particularly in rural banking, through her numerous advocacy initiatives.
The African Union and the Business Executive Council have also confirmed her as a member of ‘She Achievers in Africa’.
She was recently decorated with the ‘She Achievers’ badge at the just ended 22nd Biennial General Meeting of Association of Rural Banks, Ghana, during the 4th Rural Banking Excellence Awards held in Koforidua, an event she led in organising that has brought dignity and enhanced the entire rural banking fraternity’s image.
