GOIL PLC has presented a cheque for GH¢150,000 to the Osu Children’s Home in Accra.

The donation follows a request from the orphanage regarding challenges being faced by the home, including payment of accumulated electricity bills.

The accumulated bills, according to management of the home, have resulted in the children sleeping in darkness.

Group CEO and Managing Director of GOIL, Kwame Osei Prempeh, said the donation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility and is geared toward supporting the children’s upkeep

He explained that GH¢100,000 is expected to help management in running the home while GH¢50,000 will help settle their electricity bills.

He also added that there is a need for children in the orphanage to have quality lives.

The Director of Osu Children’s Home, Yvonne Norman, expressed appreciation to GOIL and said the donation will go a long way to mitigate challenges faced by the home.
