Poetry Corner: A royal celebration of life

0

This is that funeral announcement

From the Isles to the Downs

From the Downing Street to Down Under

Uptown to Downtown

A palace down Buckingham

Edinburgh through Scotland

To a fallen bridge down London

OH WHAT A SHOCK!

What a loss!

A Royal loss

A Royal bus set to travel out a Royal house

On a blind cruise

After many days in Queensland

May they be complete in her OBSEQUIES

May she rest in a pampering peace

And for so long

In the Empire

An umpire for so long

Over some wealthy earthlings

A ruler over the Commons

And their Wealth

Ruled from so long

Passing on not so young

May she rush to rest in peace

A HOME CALL

No time to tarry anymore

After all

A stern call

An eternal call

No ordinary call

This one

A HEAVENLY CALL

May she lie in a wailing wait

And don’t you worry

Hers, a CALL TO GLORY

And don’t you say sorry

Hers, a call to hurry to bury

In a Royal cemetery

And don’t you cry sorely

Hers, a Glorious story

And don’t you sorrow

Hers, a new morrow

And don’t you hold back the story

Hers, an obvious OBITUARY

May she lie in a solemn state

GONE TOO SOON

Well before the next moon

Until the next noon moon

Gone too soon

After her son’s rising sunset

After her own sun sets

Only at ninety six

And soon gone

Soon after her sunset

May she rest all her rest

IN TRANSITION

To her known destination

Into oblivion

Into an obliterating perpetuity

May she rest and rest

And rest

This one is a FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

In the midst of a Kingly enthronement

May He take Her place in the Palace

Of bacon and ham

In the Buckingham
