Accra Brewery PLC, a partner of the Ghana Draughts Association has rewarded the winners of the 2022 Eagle National Draught Competition.
In 2021, Eagle initiated the Eagle Ultimate Draught Championship which crowned three (3) regional champions in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.
This year’s event in hounor of HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II took place at the Manhyia Palace from 29th-31st July 2022 reaching over 400 people. The event crowned Solomon Ardey Aryeh from Greater Accra as the National Champion for 2022, Evans Koranteng from Greater Accra and Michael Abu from Ashanti as the first and second runner up respectively.
The first runner up Evans Koranteng walked away with GH¢3,000 cash and 15 cases of Eagle beer, the second runner up also walked away with GH¢2,000 cash and 10 cases of Eagle beer, and the winner, Solomon Ardey Aryeh also won GH¢5,000 cash and 20 cases of Eagle beer.
Their excitement went overboard when the cash prizes for the winners were doubled by the Asante Hene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, putting the total cash paid out to the three finalists at GH¢20,000. Solomon, Evans and Michael had GH¢10,000, GH¢6000 and GH¢4000 cash respectively.
Eagle has pledged to continue its full support to the game of champions. The brand will maintain its partnership with the Ghana Draught Association and together grow the sport from the community to regional and national levels in subsequent years.
