The John C. Maxwell Team Global Youth Initiative Continues to Impact Lives Four Years On

Have you engaged closely with some teenagers and high school graduates in Ghana recently? Are you a parent, teacher or mentor? Then you may be familiar with the unique challenges that the youth of today face.

Among their challenges, beside being trolled and bullied, are struggles with confidence, confusion and fear of failure. Parents, teachers, and leaders, entrusted with the responsibility of supporting the safe development of the youth are however in a position to take intentional steps to support our youth. It is to this end that in the year 2017, the John Maxwell Team launched the Global Youth Initiative.

During the maiden Global Youth Initiative, Certified John Maxwell Team Members around the world hosted FREE events to equip the youth with skills they need to serve as leaders in all areas of their lives. ‘During April and October of 2017, youth leadership events were hosted all over the world. John Maxwell Team members hosted 465,000 youth at nearly 2,000 events in 52 countries. Youth who attended these events were equipped, inspired, and empowered to have a positive self-image, respect themselves and others, be a positive influence, and fail forward toward success. The events were FREE and open to all children and youth groups, ages 8-18’.

Four years on, with the growing membership of the John C. Maxwell certified Coaches, this legacy lives on. This year, John Maxwell certified Coaches in Ghana inspired by Eugenia Boadi are hosting GYI events.

A number of schools are being engaged under the programme this year. They include Dominion Academy, Spintex, Association international and Beacon International.

The grand finale event is scheduled for November 6, 2021 at PIWC Graceland, Nungua Nautical from 10am to 2pm. Imagine being treated to topics such as Choice is a Gift, As Age Increases, the Gift of Choice Increases, The Value of Making Good Choices, Choices are the Best Way to Change Your Life, Making Good Choices Benefits Others and Having a Positive Attitude is Beneficial. How I wish I had this privilege in my teens. Participants will be engaged in group activities and games, reflection times and speaker sessions on the themes.

Speakers confirmed for this event include Dr. Yaw Perbi, Ramatu Yawson, Jojo Takyi_-Mensah, Doris Ahiati, Eugenia Boadi, Sameul Ayim, Thelma Teiko Tagoe and Nana Nketia Perbi. It is noteworthy that all the speakers are John Maxwell Certified Coaches, Speakers and Trainers.  We believe we can do something to make a difference, however little that difference may be in the lives of our youth.

All youth between the ages of and eighteen but with a special focus on the most recent SHS graduates are invited. We invite you to participate in a world-changing youth movement that will empower our kids to be the change they wish to see in the world.
