The ECOWAS insurance community will gather in Accra this weekend to witness the laying to rest of Mr. Gabriel Glover, the former Chief Executive Officer and General Secretary-Ghana National Bureau, whose death occurred on Friday, December 6th, 2019 at the Nyaho Medical Centre in Accra.
The late Gabriel Glover served at the Ghana National Bureau from 2005-2016. He also played a dual role during that period between 2006-2009, when he acted as Executive Secretary of the Ghana Insurers Association under one secretariat.
He retired meritoriously in 2016. During his active period, he implemented and executed various policies and programmes which made the Ghana office a very strong and formidable sub-regional institution.
According to the Ghana National Bureau, Mr. Glover was instrumental in introducing the automatic issuance of the Brown Card Motor Insurance Certificate to all insured motorists across the sub-region, especially in Ghana.
Mr. Glover was also elected as an executive committee member of the Council of Bureaux of the ECOWAS Brown Card Scheme, the body which exercises an oversight responsibility with respect to the administration and operations of the scheme for two terms, from October 2012 to October 2015 and subsequently to October 2018.
