Free transportation is for all health workers

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, has said the provision of Ayalolo buses to convey health workers, notably in the Greater Accra Region and Kumasi, is for all health workers, working in both public and private health facilities.

He clarified that even if a health worker is not in his or her uniform but has an identification card to the person is permitted to enjoy free transportation to work.

He noted that the rollout of the free buses has so far been successful but encouraged that health workers observe the spatial distancing protocol, as part of efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Minister also entreated health workers to observe the routes given to the drivers of the buses to ply while noting that in due time more buses will be added to the current number of buses working if need be.
