Nungua Warehouse  supports GPHA COVID-19 fight

The Nungua Warehouse Ghana Limited has donated some items to the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to aid the Port Authority’s fight the spread of COVID-19 in the Port.

The Warehouse is one of the lessees of the Port Authority in the business of importing liquid bulk through pipelines into tank farms developed on the land leased to the company.

According to the company, it has observed with admiration the port authority’s efforts in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the port of Tema.

In order to complement the efforts of the Port Authority, the company donated 100 cartons of alcoholic hand sanitizer, 20 packs of facemasks, 10 packs of hand gloves, and 3 cartons of liquid soap.

Presenting the items, the lawyer for the company, Jones Applerh said the port remains a critical aspect of the company’s import trade, hence, the gesture.

“The Port is very critical to our operation because basically we are importers and without the port, we have no business,” he said.

Receiving the items, the General Manager of Administration at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Alex Oppong thanked the management of the Nungua Warehouse Ghana Limited for the gesture and promised that the items will go a long way to support the Authority’s fight against the COVID-19.

He said since the outbreak, GPHA has put in a lot of measures to protect the whole port community and that the donation has come at an opportune time.

“We believe that this will go a long way to support our fight against COVID-19. We will put the items to good use to protect the whole port community,” he said.
