Ghana’s COVID-19 cases shoot up to 287

Ghana has recorded an additional 73 confirmed cases of Coronavirus disease bringing the number of cases to 287 from 214.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu announced last week that 31 confirmed cases of COVID-19 out of the 152 persons receiving treatment, have recovered.

So far, five people have died due to COVID-19. All five deaths had underlying chronic medical conditions prior to infection.

According to Mr. Agyeman-Manu, the health of the 31 persons has significantly improved with no symptoms and have been discharged from admission for home care pending repetition of laboratory tests.

The minister noted that the 31 will however be kept in isolation and monitored for about four weeks and a series of tests will be conducted before they are declared as fully recovered.
