Water and Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah has explained that households and individuals who have arrears with the Ghana Water Company Limited are eligible to enjoy the three-months free water supply directive by President Akufo Addo.
According to the Minister, the initiative which is aimed at combating the spread of Coronavirus, and relieving citizens of expenses in the crisis period, is for everyone to benefit, contrary to earlier reports in the media that those who owe are exempted.
”Arrears will be kept as arrears, but those who owe will enjoy water for April, May, and June so there shouldn’t be any alarm because the arrears are on hold.”
