ECOM supports KMA to fight against COVID-19

ECOM Ghana one of  Ghana’s leading licensed cocoa buying company has presented items to KMA as part of the company’s efforts in helping the government to fight COVID-19.

The donated items worth about GH¢30k include  Veronica Buckets,   hand sanitizers, liquid soap,  gloves, nose masks, among other personal preventive equipment.

The Director of Administration Seth Hammond and the General Manager, Richard Suwli, who presented the items on behalf of ECOM Ghana said the donation is to support the government’s efforts to stem the spread of the coronavirus which has so far infected 1671 persons and claimed 16 lives.

Stephen Ofori, the Presiding Member who received the items on behalf of  KMA was thankful to ECOM Ghana for the kind gesture.

He further expressed his appreciation for the support in the fight against the pandemic and further called on other corporate entities to emulate the ECOM  example particularly in these abnormal times of COVID-19.

Earlier, Ecom Ghana Limited in partnership with COCOBOD has donated one million two hundred thousand carbolic soap to over one million  COCOBOD registered farming communities across the country.

This is to help farmers in the COCOBOD registered farming communities in all cocoa growing regions of Ghana which includes Ashanti,  Western North, Southern, Central, Brong Ahafo and the  Eastern Regions to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic and to save lives by washing hands frequently with soap under running water as recommended by the Ghana Health Service.

ECOM Ghana currently works with about 150,000 farmers on various entrepreneurship initiatives, which are geared towards helping to build rural prosperity. The Company provides advisory services, training, and support to farmers on productivity, quality, certification, crop diversification, environmental, and other broader social issues.

ECOM Ghana actively invests in farmer capacity building to move them from subsistence farming to farming as a business through coaching on best practices. The company also engages in additional livelihood projects that support income diversity.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, ECOM Ghana has provided infrastructure developments in Health, access to Potable Water, and Education. The company has refurbished seven hospitals and thirty-five schools, installed over 300 boreholes, distributed 50 computer classrooms, and invested GH¢1.4 Million with the Otumfuo Agro ECOM mobile learning platform, providing ICT training to rural kids.
