The Ghana Education service (GES) will supply affected students of the recent fire outbreak at Buipe Senior High School with core textbooks as soon as they return to school. This came after about 290 students of Buipe SHS were affected by a fire outbreak when the students were in class.
The students who had their items burnt when fire gutted their dormitory have since been asked to go home for one week to prepare and return, as they lost all their personal effects as a result of fire burning down their dormitory.
The Northern Region GES PRO, Donal Awaala Kanzoni, in an interview said the incident occurred around 7:30am while students were in class, when the girl’s dormitory caught fire and thereby burned all their personal effects.
He said GES headquarters has directed the school’s headmistress to have a contractor supply school uniform and house vests as soon as possible. This is to enable the affected students to adjust quickly and settle back into studying.
