COVID-19: Advans Ghana Savings & Loans gives hope to Royal Seed Orphanage

Management of Advans Ghana have donated some assorted items to the Royal Seed Orphanage Home in Papase-Kasoa to support them during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items include Veronica buckets, the liquid soaps, detergents, tissues, 13 bags of rice, 2 (20l) ‘gallons’ of cooking oil, 3 buckets of washing powder, 10 (5l) gallons of liquid soaps, Toilet rolls tissues, bathing and washing soaps, 4 veronica buckets and some other essential items needed to combat COVID-19.

The visit was also as a result of a continues partnership with the home to support them in their needs.

As Advans Ghana prepares its staff and clients for any possibility based on the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the institution did not forget the vulnerable in the society hence the visit to Royal Seed orphanage housing more than 200 orphans in the Central Region of Ghana

Donating the items on behalf of the company, Mr. Sadiq Abdul-Rahman, Kasoa Branch Manager of Advans Ghana, emphasized the need to provide such assistance because the orphanage depends mostly on donation for its survival.

Mr Abdul-Rahman noted that the move is also to make sure that the children in the orphanage are first and foremost kept healthy and away from the Corona virus that is gradually hiking in numbers in the country.

He elaborated on the need for constant hand wash under running water with soap as emphasized by WHO.

He also stressed the need for the children to practice personal hygiene by taking their baths twice a day.

He also touched on the ened to boost their immune systems, relating it to how well fed a person is. He advised that it is necessary that the children are given a balanced diet to enable them boost their immune system considering the period in which we are.

Mr. Abdul-Rahman further stated that “because social distancing is now important, the management of Advans Ghana wanted to mitigate the risk of the staff and children of the home getting infected by the virus, hence the donation of the items  made at this time.”

Receiving the items on behalf of the home, Founder of the Orphanage, Aunty Naomi, as she’s affectionately called by all expressed gratitude for the items received on behalf of her over 200 children and staff.

She applauded Advans Ghana for what she described as “divine intervention because for the past two weeks we have received no donations and this was taking a toll on us. I therefore call on the general public to keep the orphanage in mind and assist us amid fear of possible starvation should the locked down be extended.”
