The beneficiary institutions include the Tema Regional Police Command and Tema Remar Children’s Home. Items such as drinks, water, hand-sanitisers, disinfectants, gloves, bags of rice, gallons of oil, and biscuits were presented to support the policemen and women as well as orphans in the Tema enclave to aid their fight in eradicating the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The Human Resource Manager of Zonda Tec Ghana, Nana Afua Frimpong, presenting the items said: “The outbreak of novel coronavirus has brought to bear the need for all of us – government, corporate entities, private sector and individuals – to work together for the common and greater good of our country. Unity is vital to overcoming challenges in this period. Our donation to the Tema Regional Police Command is therefore reflective of the company’s mission to invest in our environment”.

“I want to thank the management and staff of Zonda Tec for this donation they have made to the Tema Regional Police Command. This will go a long way to support the COVID-19 partial lock-down exercise, wherein we have deployed personnel to be on the ground to ensure that inhabitants within the region comply with the directives which have been issued by government,” he said.

At the Tema Remar Children’s Home, Director of the home, Philip Dartey – who received the items, commended Zonda Tec Ghana for the gesture and called on other organisations to emulate the company.

The outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country has necessitated a partial lockdown in Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Kumasi. This has caused a lot of businesses to fall sharply, thereby heightening negative financial conditions.

Currently, the total number of coronavirus cases in Ghana has increased to 641 with 83 recoveries.
